Candidate Screener
A preliminary self-assessment to help you understand whether ketamine therapy might be appropriate for your situation. Not a medical evaluation.
All calculations run locally in your browser. No data is collected.
Have you tried two or more antidepressants without adequate relief?
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is the strongest evidence-based indication for ketamine therapy.
Do you have a diagnosis of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or chronic pain?
Ketamine has the strongest evidence for depression. Emerging evidence supports its use for anxiety, PTSD, and certain chronic pain conditions.
Are you experiencing acute suicidal thoughts?
Ketamine has shown rapid anti-suicidal effects. If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline immediately.
Are you currently working with a therapist or willing to start?
Combining ketamine with psychotherapy (integration therapy) typically leads to better and longer-lasting outcomes.
Do you have someone who can drive you to/from appointments?
You cannot drive for at least 24 hours after most ketamine treatments. Having a support person improves the treatment experience.
Do you have uncontrolled high blood pressure?
Ketamine can temporarily raise blood pressure and heart rate. Uncontrolled hypertension is typically a contraindication.
Do you have a history of psychosis or active psychotic symptoms?
Ketamine can exacerbate psychotic symptoms. Active psychosis or a history of schizophrenia is generally a contraindication.
Do you have an active substance use disorder?
Active substance use disorders (especially ketamine or other dissociatives) may need to be addressed before starting treatment.
Are you pregnant or planning to become pregnant?
Ketamine is generally not recommended during pregnancy due to limited safety data.
Do you have significant liver disease?
Ketamine is metabolized by the liver. Significant hepatic impairment may affect dosing and safety.
